The Netherlands in a Nutshell by a Female Gendered Nut Carrying a Shell of a Suitcase Solo...a Book!
This is an illustrated digitized copy of a hand written journal I wrote when preparing for a solo female journey across the Atlantic in 2014. I was on my way to Europe at the time of writing this journal. The book includes details and ideas and resources that I used when planning my own adventure for two weeks.
While I ended up staying in the Netherlands, both on the beach and in Amsterdam for King's Day *which is also my own birthday!+, this book talks about what it would be like to travel to Germany, France, and other European countries.
If you are curious about what a successful travel planner looks like, I've got you covered!
Topics in this journal include:
What to Wear in Winter in Europe as a Woman 0:57
Public Transportation and Local Travel in European Countries 1:45
Last Minute Packing Tips 2:00
Money and Saving for a Trip 2:07
Places You Must See in Top Cities Including Paris and Amsterdam 2:22
The journal was written by hand in the fall of 2013 as I prepared my journey. I intended on flying in January and traveling that month to help combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) that I experienced in the winter months when living in South Dakota.
However, my journey ended up being delayed--which is discussed in a candid handwritten entry in the journal and my feelings about such matters. I traveled in April of that year and that turned out to be a FAR more optimal time to visit Amsterdam!!
I have another handwritten journal series (all of these books are available on Amazon) that discusses my actual activities and experiences while "on the ground" in the Netherlands.
It was amazing! I visited all of the major sites including King's Day parades and festivals and the Children's Parade in the park, the Anne Frank Museum, Keukenhof Gardens, a Cirque du Soleil show on my birthday, all of the museums Yes Van Gogh too, a free orchestra performance By That Orchestra, Noordwijk where I spent a week on the beach, and I even fell "in love" with a stranger, a Dutchie to boot!
Also fell out of love before returning to the US on time and with plenty of souvenirs and experiences including a visit to the Red Light District. It's all in those books!
In the meantime please watch and read this amazing travel planner by a professional travel writer. See my About to learn more!
